LATEST: Appeal after knife-point robbery at Bargain Booze, Booth Lane, Middlewich

TWO men brandishing large knives threatened a member of staff at a Middlewich off-licence before demanding cash.

Police are appealing for witnesses following a robbery at Bargain Booze in Booth Lane at around 10pm on Sunday.

The criminals used scarves and hooded tops to conceal their faces and looted an undisclosed sum of money from the till.

They also stole packets of cigarettes from behind the counter before making their escape on foot.

A 19-year-old was threatened with a large kitchen knife during the incident.

Det Con Bob Scrannage said: "Although the staff member was unhurt he was left shaken by his ordeal.

“We would appeal for anyone who was in the area at the time who may have any information to contact police."

The first man is described as white, about 5ft 8ins wearing dark hooded clothing and gloves. His face was covered with a scarf or something similar.

The second man is described as black, with similar clothing and also had his face covered.

Both men were carrying knives and had local accents.
