All together under one roof for Tommy Thumbs and Cledford School
9:00am Sunday 29th January 2012

MORE youngsters will soon be united under a Middlewich school’s banner.
Tommy Thumbs Pre-school, which currently operates at the Wych Centre, will move to new nursery facilities at Cledford Primary School in September.
A logo and uniform is being developed for the nursery children and this will be provided free so that no families are disadvantaged with the costs of the new look.
School and nursery bosses say that the change will ensure that the newly built nursery at Cledford supports young children from across Middlewich in the most inclusive way.
The new arrangements will mean that three and four-year-old who are entitled to 15 hours of free day care will be able to use the facilities.
Tommy Thumbs will continue to offer care to younger children as well.
Headteacher Gareth Elswood said: “Parents told us they wanted more flexibility - the new provision should be more suited to meet the needs of working parents in the area.
“Children will also be able to stay for full days and have lunch with their friends.”
Debbie Brain, Tommy Thumbs’ manager, added: “We will now be called Tommy Thumbs at Cledford.
“Our staff are looking forward to moving to the new purpose built nursery.”
A before and after school club is also starting up for children in reception class and upwards.
The nursery classroom is located in the main school building but has a private entrance with kitchen, shower and meeting rooms.
The new outdoor play area has climbing frames, slides, wood bark play with new giant sandpits and a covered outdoor play area.
